You cannot force creativity. You cannot force yourself to be an artist. For the longest time I tried to do both. I let myself feel intimidated and I became afraid to do want I love the most.

I got a day job where I sit at a desk the majority of the time. I get paid by the hour, have two 15 minute breaks and an hour lunch. I’ve become a little bit mundane. But this of course isn’t the whole picture. It’s a lot more complicated then that. A lot more…

My point is, I needed to stop and think for awhile. I needed to just be mundane and live life as it came. I needed perspective. Not to mention working 8 hours in a very demanding position at a non-profit and running an after school theatre club exhausts any creativity one might have. (gasps for air)

But I’m taking it slow and I’m getting back into it. I’m getting inspired again to be a filmmaker, a photographer… a storyteller. The older you get, the more you realize that life is about living in a manner in which you are happiest. Be kind, be forgiving, love, don’t be a jerk to others and create what ever it is that you want.

Be fearless in a fearful world. Thank you for being patient with me and sticking around. To the artists that I’ve kept waiting, please accept my apology. I will make it up to you.

Opening the blinds, letting the light shine in… go.
